Thoughts on ITT2007

Or maybe you missed this topic? Let me try to get this back on top and first page again.

Lee is still on hold, he has the last-before-final[ *] draft of the Rules for ITT2007 ready to be published on this site, but we're still waiting for your input. And I can't keep him waiting much longer, because we have A DATE.
Yes, I know, in Germany, at the German Discworld Con, but that's not what I meant .
I meant THE DATE: for the start of the International Thud Tournament 2007. It's midnight of tuesday march 27. Slightly over two months from now.
Anyone who wants to participate should 1. be a paying member of thudgame.com, and 2. tell the Powers that Be before midnight of march 25.
Be there, or be hectagonal!

[ *]version 0.99 will become 1.0 if none of you has any input before the end of sunday january 28, when this thread WILL BE LOCKED, and the rules WILL BE POSTED.

I did not participate in TT2006, so I don't have any experience with last year's rules.
They seem ok to me, though, so I don't have any suggestions.
Again, as I never had to stick to those rules, I don't really see the flaws in there.

Thanks for that, Ponder. Now that the rules have been posted, this topic is open again. You can discuss the Rules here, but that's only for next editions. We can't change them now, as that wouldn't be fair to people who already signed up.
So your ideas are still welcome, let's know what you think.

Since everyone agrees , let's use this thread instead to find out who signed up. I know Palm and Elerias did, because they contacted me first. To anyone else who's thinking of signing up: don't! Lee is the person you should tell, although a CC: to me would be appreciated.

OB is right but we only have 9 days before the tourney begins! We need to know if you're going to participate. Basically anyone who's a paying member can play and these are the folks with an avatar that shows on the forums. If your picture's up their proud (or even if you didn't look that great when they took it! ) you can play but you've got to let me know soon!

A slight glitch in the communications pipeline: I think Lee presumes I have the list of players. But I don't. I know of some people, but I'm not sure if any people signed up in the last few days. We wouldn't want to start without them, would we?
I need a couple of hours at least to set up the tourney, draw names out of hats, make heats, that kind of stuff. The deadline for that has been and gone....
So I'm very sorry, but I need to postpone the tourney for one day. The closing dates for games will of course shift along with it, so you will still get your two weeks of play in each round.
Again, I'm very sorry, but I like to do things the proper way, not in haste.

Lee, if you read this: I need the list of names ASAP, please! On top of it all the mail server is down, so you better use PM as well, please?

Edit: OK, hold your horses everyone. It seems I'm mistaken. Although my calendar says ITT07 had to start at 23:59 tonight, I just read in the events corner that it will start 23:59 TOMORROW, so it's still good to go (as long as I get a list of players from Lee by noon tomorrow, that is ).
