Re: the best TP book....

My original favorite, and probably still is, is rincewind and the UU wizards...especially the bursar, obviously.
I've really been enjoying the witches books recently though...didn't like them much when i first read them but this time round I understand the headology a lot more..but basically anything set in the discworld universe...

My fav overall book so far?...eep thats a tough one..Possibly Last continent because I read that the other night..actually no..the Amazing Maurice and his educated rodents. absolutely Loved it. definitely my fav.

Re: the best TP book....

Hmm - I haven't read Carpet People, but alongside Thud! May fave TP book would be Theif of Time - Lu Tse is amazingly cool and humble, Miss Susan is just a great character in whatever book she is in.

I thoroughly enjoyed Wintersmith too. Tiffany Aching is definately going to give Mistress Weatherwax a proper reckoning soon! Its nice to see the older characters developing with the newer ones. It seems to make all the books fall into a better order.

Re: the best TP book....

Lu-tze rocks,he's prob my favourite character, besides the librarian

What a difficult question!

I like most of the books set in Ankh Morpoch (Vetinari amuses me greatly, and the Watch are always good reads) ... followed by the Witches.

But a favourite? I guess it would be a close call between Thud and Nightwatch... with going Postal in close third.

I didn't realise this untill someone told me, but the first book at least is almost a direct copy of Star Wars IV: A new hope.

Now when I read it it seems really obvious. does anybody else think this?
It was still a great book the first time around.

If pressed I would have to say Reaper Man is my favorite Terry Pratchett novel.

If not pressed I would say, "Thank you."

Re: the best TP book....

with all those great books, i can honestly say i have no fav, since they are all so fantastic (a little pun there. get it? oh well...). my least fav is the witches, though. from the non-DW, i'de have to say "Good Omens". leaves me laughing to tears every time i read it.
