Well, the new version on the server allows you to play it without crashing when you send a � or � symbol. More importantly, it now includes binary support, which means I can now include saving and loading.
It's half written, and I'd be finishing it off now, but these darn builders next door are making it utterly impossible to concentrate. Annoyingly, they're also making it impossible to sleep. So I have to fit both working and sleeping into the nighttime: I was up until 6:47 this morning getting stuff coded, and got woken before 9. This does NOT make Dewi a happy, well-balanced puppy.
So from nine in the morning until the evening there's not much I can do other than go out for long walks and wait until the noise subsides. Or just curl up in the corner of my room in the foetal position, screaming with my hands over my ears to drown out the noise. I managed to bear it for a couple of months when the kitchen downstairs was being done, because I would at least get some kindof advantage out of the inconvenience in the end. And maybe it wouldn't be so bad if I knew they were going to be finished anytime soon, but we've no ETA. Just the banging...
