This may be used how you like within reason IE no spam etc the way we suggest that you use it is:-
Put relevant gaming information in your post suggested formats below.
My suggestion Option 1 (SANEAlex)
is put this kind of info in the post and when ever the info changes copy and edit a new post in your own thread that way when you status changes IE if you change closed for games to open for games your thread will move up the forum and other players can easily spot that you are looking for another playing partner.

Goto your myaccount left tab
select edit tab from above
select personal
then enter the info you want to show in the Thud Preferences: box
If you use this then when you are looking for new games add a new post to your own thread saying open for new games and vice versa if not looking for anymore add Post to your thread that say closed for new games. Again this way those who are actively searching for new playing partners should be sorted towards the top of the forum.

If any of this is unclear please use the thread http://www.thudgame.com/node/795 to ask questions and make suggestions on how to improve the functionality of this forum.
One extra thing i thing it may be useful for other players to be able to post to the bottom of your thread with for instance "When you are next free i would like to play you" type posts. I think that this is a useful way of using this type of thread as not all have PM(Private Messages) and or Email option enabled *1 but they should not be used for discussion of the weather personal feuds etc.

*1 PM and email has to be enabled by the user but i would like to point out that the way Dewi and Lee have set up the system does protect you from spam and harassment your email is not sent to the other player an email is sent from the site on your behalf and your email is not left anywhere search able from what i understand. If you do get any harassment report it to one of the site Druids. :-

*2 We suggest for clarity that when you set up a game in the forum thud forum http://www.thudgame.com/forum/11 that you use the above notation for your game title IE:-
Player1 v Player2 (Trad, Double, U)
With player1's and player2's name suitably substituted we all know the joke if you have read Guards Guards 
Trad = Traditional Thud
KVT = Koom Valley Thud
Double = You are playing both ways IE Dwarfs and Trolls
Single = Playing only one half/one way (Trad full game you play both ways KVT the game does have end state and you can win or draw with either side.)
U = Unlimited number of moves IE you play until you both agree to stop or if number that's how many moves you play each way.
