FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

What questions and hopefully answers( tho if you have a question relevant to this Thud site do ask it)

would be helpful to put in a FAQ for this site.

For Example

Q. Is it possible to view a game being played

A. Yes ask the players playing for the game number and then goto http://game.thudgame.com/getgame/ and enter it.

This site can also be used to download and study previously played games if you know the number.

Re: FAQ what would be useful?

well you'd think a faq would be based on previously asked q but hey.

I'd say there should be tips for newbies on how to start a game and how to pick a partner that would be appropriate. i.e. not so experienced that they'd wiooe the floor with you

Re: FAQ what would be useful?

Hi there. As a newbie I would certainly like to know how to get this game to work in the first place. The screen that I assume is meant to be the game window is comming up blank. I would like to know if it is possible to play against a computer AI opponent, and if it is not, I would suggest it. I would also suggest putting the FAQs as a link along with the "my account" "Top 10 users by points", "log out" ect.
Thanks

Would you mind starting a topic in the Technial Problems forum - then we can stay on-topic in this thread, and you'll probably get more help (since people who think they might be able to help will be drawn to a thread that's explitly about problems with the game). Thanks.

This isn't possible at the moment. It's been mentioned a few times in the past - here and here for example - and none of the people who were looking into it have reported any success. I've even heard it suggested that it's effectively impossible to make a successful thud AI.

Good idea - I expect that, once we've worked out what would be good to put in one, it might be put there.

Thanks

Which hasn't actually stopped Dewi from designing one he thinks might work. The trouble has been having the time to dedicate towards it in, and amongst, the other projects we're working on. Sad

Yep, that's just where they'll go when they're ready! Very Happy
