This is the new creative forum; for people to talk about art, poetry, writing and other creative endeavours and to submit their own works as a showcase of their talents.
2 things:
1. We will be quite rigid about keeping discussion on topic. The Thudding Drum is the place for stream of consciousness posting.
2. There will be a low tolerance threshold for offence on this forum. It takes a certain amount of bravery to submit one's creative works to public scrutiny; insincere jocularity at the author's expense will result in an unceremoniously swift and involuntary trip to the scorpion pit.
With that said, art and creativity is what life is about. It's why we're here on this site (OK, it's Pterry's fault really being all creative and stuff). Robin williams said it well in the Dead Poets Society, "We [aren't creative] because it's cute. We're [creative] because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for!" So who's gonna start things off?
