Strata

- the book obviously not the naming of geological layers even thought that's why the book was called that in the first place.

I was thinkning, many people have read the discworld books but fewer have read strata and thse that have would probably have come to the same question I did. Does Strata qualify as a discworld book? Is it good, How good are the characters etc?
I intend to get to the bottom of this I think we should weight Strata against the discworld books and see how it fares.

Re: Strata

well imho strata is not a disworld book but (like dark side of the sun) is an early foray into sci-fi. just like carpet people ain't a nomes book.
the wourld they find there, while apparently magic, is infact mechine driven. like the replicators in star trek

Re: Strata

ah, sadly this is one of those books where i pick it up, stare at the cover for a while, put it down and then finish whatever book i was already reading and forget it

Re: Strata

Druid

everyone should read this book. its a bit wierd though because you can blatently see pTerry's experiment into discworld, and in a way this throws you off a bit.

but it is still a very good book you must read. the smae does indeed go for "the dark side of the sun"
