Some reviews have been posted about last week's Sky One broadcast of "The Hogfather" film, based on Terry Pratchett's Discworld novel "The Hogfather". Below are links to two diametrically opposed reviews. What I would like to know is what do you all think? Those of you who watched it, which one is closer to the film you saw?

Re: Hogfather reviews
well lee i dont think there is any chance of anybody on here not choosing the sfx review as it is far more accurate
no film is ever as good as the book (unless it is a short story 10 pages or so and that ends up being a 3 hr film)i belive there is a stephen king one.but others ...

Re: Hogfather reviews
I think it's interesting and worth considering that the large majority of people who've commented on both articles give positive views of the production - it's not just people posting because they disagree with the reviewer...
Looks to me like the consensus is that it wasn't quite up to the book, and it wasnt perfect as TV, but that it was excellent nonetheless - if you attempt to match pTerry, and miss by a little way, it's bound to be pretty damn good - I find myself firmly agreeing with that majority

Re: Hogfather reviews
When was the film released? I haven't heard anything about a film version in either the movies or TV. How do I see it?
There is NO way that it could be anywhere NEAR as good as the book. (although as far as discworld goes that waasn't one of the best though it had its moments)
I want to see from "truth" onwards made into films.

Re: Hogfather reviews
Sky TV in the UK funded a film version for TV - it was never released in cinemas. First broadcast on the 17th-18th December, and due to be released on DVD around March (I think).

And of course all those Philip K. Dick short stories and books that have been made into movies.
