As I'm nearly finnishing the book "Thud" I was curious as if this game really was invented later on. I was pretty sure of course that it was. So I found this site today.
As a mediocre chessplayer, and a beginner at this game (but I think I understand the rules) I'd like to practice via msn-messenger with any of you who care to play a beginner who wants to learn. I downloaded the board. Anyone here is welcome to add me on there msn to chat about the game and play. I'm of course gonna buy this game later on as a real board. I'm already a fan of this game after one day and no games yet played. Strange huh!!!

Just one word of warning, tho - posting your email address on any public forum (or any webpage at all which can be freely accessed) does encourage spam. If I were you I'd edit your post to remove it, and give people your email in a private message if they ask.
But of course you can take the risk if you're not bothered about getting hundreds of emails trying to trick you into giving your money to a fake bank.
None the less, it's good to see you, and I hope I'll get a chance to play you at some point in the future. just not for a while yet (my life is getting rather on top of me at the mo...)
