have tried to change my password, time zone, add a picture of me and all I get is a lot of lines of text stating I am not authorised to modify this field after I click on submit.
have tried doing most of these changes one at a time, have logged out and in again, have gone from the menu and from the link in the mail I got my password with but not managed to change anything yet.
Lee if you can do it from your end I can send you the details.

maybe like on a few other forums I use you have to get to a score of 5 or 10 to be able to add an avatar but not normally to change a password, will post here when I get it done.

Whereas I hadn't actually thought of that (the module may be doing this but I doubt it; or, at least, we haven't set it to do that), we have explicitly set the system to only allow picture (avatar) uploads for members. Amongst other privileges, members can display an avatar and we will shortly be adding user badges to their display.
Anyone can join for a mere £10 by going to the Thudgame shop and joining the Thudguild.
By the way, when your browser asks you, please accept the certificate from CACert.org. It's from us.
The user passwords issue should be sorted this week.

Interesting thing is that although I paid my membership fee, *I* seem to be unable to upload an avatar, too. The system keeps telling me that I'm not authorized to update that field. hmmm...

Dearmer, upload your avatar! All profile restrictions have been removed. As of now anyone can change their password, upload an avatar, change your e-mail address,change your signature, etc. Dewi has written his first Drupal module and is rightly feeling very proud of himself
Some who have had avatars up will notice they're not showing anymore. We haven't deleted them, they're still there in your profile but won't display in posts. All may feel free to flaunt their avatars throughout the site by becoming a member for a mere GBP10 over in the Thudgame shop. go on, you know you wanna! That's less than a round of beers in London...
