I have just got into plying thud!...would it be reccomended to purchase the boardgame?? If so i have a couple of questions
1. Does it include versions of rules??
2. I have read something about a 'Kings Version' - what is that and does it differ from Koom Valley??
3. Are the squares numbered (e.g. h9 for slowfire games) - stupid question i know...

but a bit of marker here and there would liven it up. If you are playing forum thud it would be best to download the thudboard app for Oograh Boikes web site

Actually, it wasn't. It used to be on thudgame.com somewhere, but now with the recent migration, I can't seem to find it anymore. I searched my cache, and presto! It's on my download page now, a printable version of Thud Board with coordinates.
Unless of course Ponder was referring to Marc's ThudBoard application, I link to that but it's on Marc's site: http://www.million.nl/thudboard .

I've just included it in the first blog post on the new thudgame.com site (have a look at the new site if you haven't already!
) where clicking on the graphic generates a thud board map with co-ordinates. Feel free to download and print out! 
We're very excited about the new site. We'll be able to accommodate a lot of the things talked about here and here plus more. We would really like to hear from everyone what you would like the new site to do, particularly around community things such as cities and building group communites!

I'm such an uber noob, but hey, got the boardgame today, read thru the rules all looked good until, doesnt say if u can move all the dwarfs first or just one (or any number in between) and the same for the trolls, i realise this question will look silly to anyone who has actually played but i avnt been able to yet. Tks in advance for any answers.

you can move any dwarf first (but only one), then the troll player can move any troll (again only one). then it's the dwarf player's turn again. i hope that answers your question.
