Whilst playing Ytaker we started discussing desserts - and Ice cream toppings we came up with
Cream
More Icecream
Baileys
Peanuts
Banana's
Chocolate sprinkles
Wafer Biscuits
and something called 99's which I'd never heard of but do sound good.
What else do people put on their icecream?
WP

Re: Ice cream toppings
Baileys
The foulest stuff known to man in my opinion

Maple syrup is nice on a good vanilla ice cream.
Raspberry sauce is also quite nice
and i have been known to put grenadine on vanilla ice cream
hundreds and thousands <drool>
nelly - currently not packing a trunk.
An explosion of soup made the bumblebee fly, so I'm told.
GO MARROWS
(the vegetables, the vegetables)
Every day this summer so far as I can tell, the icecream van has jingled outside out house, and stopped just up the road.
Nearly every day, I go outside and buy one.
Most of the people buying are men like me, of a certain age, beginning to bald. The occasional boy-child looks out of place. I have never seen a woman, and only once a girl.
I need say nothing, nowadays. Like a good publican, the icecream man remarks on the weather as he reaches down a regular sized cone, fires up the machine, and tops it off with a £1.50. As he reaches into the fridge, he might talk about the armed robbery in the local store, or the football. He puts in a flake ("It's not '99' unless it's Cadbury's!", pronounces one of the signs on his van: of course, his are Cadbury's), and then adds an extra (25p extra, for £1.75: far better than buying a £2 single-flake double-cone).
Then he reaches for the sauces. Invariably, his hand hovers over the red. But then, without looking to me, it lands on the chocolate as he remembers my preference. A liberal soaking in chocolate sauce later, I hand him the exact change, and flash him a smile as the next man in line steps up.
That's a "One-fifty with an extra flake and chocolate sauce" to you.

Delighted to know that Ben and Jerry's is to be found in weathersrubbishville, UK. Ben and Jerrys *was* a lovely brand of ice cream from Vermont (good cheese we don't got - great ice cream, we do...) made by two nice, politically correct gents named - you guessed it. Great flavors, homemade taste...
Then they sold out to some multi-national food corp, can't remember which. Which probably accounts for it showing up in weathersrubbishville. It's still very high-quality premium ice cream, but most of the really excellent flavors have been retired, and the political cachet is gone.
The one remaining excellent original flavor is Cherry Garcia - cherries and dark chocolate flakes. To die for. Highly recommended.

Thankfully we can also buy it here in South Morpork as well! What with it being hotter than Bangkok and Cairo here last week....

Not forgetting "Cookie Dough" flavor. Wonderfully rich, creamy ice cream with chocolate flakes/chips interspersed amongst some of the best raw chocolate chip cookie dough this side of my mom's recipe! Mmmmmm......
All, though, pales next to French Vanilla ice cream with Hershey's Chocolate Syrup all over it!!!!!*

We are all sounding like those cheasy Ice cream TV ads that sometimes grace our screens, intertwined with that cheasy american accented guy that does all the film trailers - you know?! like "The best adventure to hit your screens, coming to a cinema near you"
a random thought no doubt

Re:
i just "stumbled" over this topic and even if it's a long time someone posted, i want to tell you about chocolat chip ice cream with a topping of those great italian amarena cherries and some of the really sticky syrup they swim in.
you can only top this if you put some whipped cream on top!
