I would love to play with you. I'm pretty new myself. If you make a mistake, or want to take back a move, that's fine with me. I'm just learning too. Do you have the Thudboard program which will help you track the moves?

Ops. Were capturing mandatory, that'd be a quite convenient move though

If capturing were mandatory, I would just go ahead and capture the three dwarfs at the end of the shove, rather than the one right next to me. Your replacement move is much better.

Feels kind of weird, playing dwarves, doesn't it? It must be the first board game with an innate imbalance (or at least so it seems).

In four or five games that I have played, I have only managed to put together a block of dwarves once. I think the key might be to feint as if you're going to build a block somewhere to draw the troll, and then quickly flee to another quarter.

But I'm quite bad at it. You'll find out.

I wonder.. didn't someone mention in Thud! that dwarves can be unstoppable when skillfully played? (vetinari? i dont quite remember) I wonder what a game like that would be like..

Well, actually I meant ONE would have to be Vetinari, including all of us in that. I have been chasing that feeling that there is a really good way to play dwarves for some time now, and haven't arrived.
