Looking to sell - what value?

Hey all. I've got a question and I'm not sure where to go for the answer. Googled and found this place, and even though it's seemingly rather quiet here, I may as well try.

I am in need of money, so will probably be selling much of my Discworld collection. This includes a signed (by Pratchett & 2 others, will update when I find the moving box it's still in) goatskin & stone edition of Thud the game. Does anyone have any idea how much this would be worth? Where would be the best place to sell it?

Thanks in advance!

Hi welcome to the site not sure what it is worth but our old sister forum http://www.discworldstamps.co.uk/forum/index.php has a trading section that is used for selling to other fans if your not wanting to use something like ebay when you say stone set do you mean one of the versions where all the Trolls and Dwarfs are individuals?

Re: Looking to sell - what value?

Thanks for your reply!

No, my copy is not one of the Limited Edition ones. It was bought from a DW con in the UK not long after the game was first released. The 'board' is printed on soft goatskin leather and the figures are all carved stone, though not individual looks but all alike. There was no box it all came in, just wrapped in the leather with a small instruction manual booklet. Like I said, it was signed (at the con) by Terry and a couple of others (I wish I could remember who, possibly Stephen Briggs and Bernard Pearson, though it could have been Trevor, I can't remember, I really need to find the box it's in). It cost me about $150 at the time. That would have been 2001? 2002? I know I had it in 2002, and I do have a photo I just found from then!

We bought 3 of them - one for myself, one for my friend, and one to give away as first prize in our Meetup Thud! tournament.

Anyway ... if you have any further ideas, let me know ^_^ Thanks!

That is one of the original gaming versions made by Bernard's crew in Wincanton and whilst not officially a limited edition i don't think too many were made before it was licensed for mass production and despite being based on the original molds the mass produce ones the resin had a different shrinkage so there is a slight size difference between the two types.
