Hi,
We're doing a bit of clearing out, and are wanting to get rid of our Thud. A few quick details:
- Very first one ever sold, at the original event back in late November 2001.
- Numbered #6, as the first five were to people such as Terry and Trevor.
- Every single piece is different. Each character has a different 'personality' (some are styled to look like certain individuals connected to Discworld), with the Dwarves carrying a range of weapons.
- All individually hand-painted by Bernard and his gnome slaves.
- We are in the process of getting a copy of the certificate of authenticity from Isobel, to prove the above to doubters!
The set's been stored carefully and, even 8 and a half years after purchase, has never been played with.
Rather than just accepting the first offer that comes along, I'd also be interested in opinions on the value of this set. I believe the original cost was £400; unfortunately, I can't find any reference to this edition on the Discworld Emporium site.
(Off topic, but we're also selling off a Lancre Castle, out of stock at the Emporium but priced at £500)
Cheers all.

Re: Hand-painted 'Classic' Thud for sale
Unfortunately i don't think its a good time to sell being in the middle of a double dip recession if my six numbers come up i will make an offer but thats more than a million to one chance
on the other hand if you have to sell then also try our old sister site http://www.discworldstamps.co.uk/forum/ as it does have a trading thread and is hosted by the Artificers Emporium.
Where are we going and why am i in this handbasket?...
...Oh! always try to look on the bright side...
... Um anybody got any marshmellows.?
Re: Hand-painted 'Classic' Thud for sale
I (sadly) don't have the spare money to make an offer but I'd be interested in seeing pictures of such a wonder. Do you happen to have some online somewhere?
Re: Hand-painted 'Classic' Thud for sale
SANEAlex,
Thanks for the tip, I've listed it there. It's obviously not the best time to sell (even assuming that we are the middle of a double-dip; technically, it's impossible to know), but a small person in the house[1] means that we have a choice between holding on to things we keep locked away and never use, or buying him clothes[2].
Death - no photos currently (they're on another computer), but will try and come up with some soon. I'm surprised that I can't find any information about this set anywhere, to be honest - it's possible they sold so quickly that they never needed serious advertising.
Cheers.
[1] Baby. We've not adopted a dwarf.
[2] We do buy him clothes already. This is just an example.

Death,
I've managed to dig out some photos, they can be found at http://suitcase.org/thud (damn spam filter ...)
Cheers.
