Heya everyone.
I just came across my old Thud board, which has sparked a renewed interest in this game for me, and was wondering if anyone cared to indulge me with a game of some sort? Online/Slowfire?, it's all good.
I used to play a bit a couple'a years ago, so I'm not terrible at the game, although I'm sure all my chops are a bit rusty.
So... anyone up for a game?
Cheers,
Oneiron

Re: In the mood for a game?
Hey 1-Iron!!! Lovely to see you back, mate!
Hope you're well, and interesting you're in the mood for a good game. I have excellent news from His Eco-green-ness Oograh Boike - apparently Magrat is back and looking to play in ITT2009!!! All she needs is a challenger.
Go for it mate! Magrat is legendary around these parts (to say nothing of being proper Thud Nobility and aristocracy - gives the site a bit of class she does, what with the likes of the proletarian admins yer saddled with!
) and we want to give her a proper Thudding as a welcome back from the hinterlands of the East Coast of Holywood
Dewi and I are doing stuff in the background so one o'these days we may possibly announce some good news about cool ways to make the site even more fun (crosses fingers, holds breath...). Stick around mate, more fun to come!

Re: In the mood for a game?
Ehm Lee, you just violated rule number 7...
Does this mean, you are banned from playing now [evil] ?
No, as long as it convinces people for signing up I really don't mind

though technically ob violated it first. does this mean we need a new referee?

rule 7 of the ITT09 is: Secrecy
a. To avoid players from selecting or avoiding particular opponents, the names of players who joined will not be divulged to anyone until start of pool(s).

Re: In the mood for a game?
Ehrm... aha, yes, ahum... right...
But Rule 3 states:
Oograh Boike will set up the tournament; he, Lee Alley and Dewi Morgan are the referees for the duration of the tournament. They will, as a consequence, not partake in ITT2009.
So conversations about the ITT2009 and its organisation (and thus pariticipants) are admitted and even necessary. I did not take into consideration though that obviously one of the referees is a
FOOL!!!
Ah well, the surprise has been blown. I was rather proud to have convinced Magrat to come back and even join the ITT2009. I was planning on a little broohaha to announce her joining. So I was a little sad to find that enthousiasm, at least for february, mounted to one, who was, indeed, Magrat.
There's another one now, do I need to tell you the name? I don't; but nevertheless (s)he is still sworn to secrecy!
Happy Thudding!

Re: In the mood for a game?
omg. "Legendary"?! Please.
I guess that's what happens when you go away for awhile. "Busy" is really more like it. Yes, I was delighted to hear from OB and feeling terribly guilty about abandoning the games I was playing with whoever I was playing them with two years ago, can't remember who.
Someone should really step up for the second pool of ITT2009 so we can have at it. You have nothing to lose, especially not a game of Thud. My recollection is that I played Palm and Mr Scrub in ITT2007 and was summarily crushed by each of them. Now it has been two years since I've played, so I am available to be summarily crushed by pretty much anybody who has only just finished reading the rules. So why not?
Now, where's my copy of the rules...
Re: In the mood for a game?
Where are we going and why am i in this handbasket?...
...Oh! always try to look on the bright side...
... Um anybody got any marshmellows.?

Hmm I wonder why this sentence does look so familiar...
Although it does sound strange, since I started probably very shortly after you left, but anyways: welcome back Magrat
