Brit awards...

First of all, i would like to say high:) i know i have not posted recently, but i do read...so no need to bring back the oldish gang hex:) i am already back. Its good to see that the site is finally sorted, i got the feeling the admins were slacking:) yeah, the site improvements are good...i like the kudos. Hoping to get some of those in the near future.lol. Oh, and if i could bring back one thing, it would be top 10 users by points and a point for posting. Anyway, what do you all think about the brit awards? Pleased? I was...especially with elbow scooping that award....but i do think day and age should have got best album. They was robbed by kings of leon. Thats my humble opinion, i would love to hear your:)

Hi h.o.g.,

Welcome back!

I'm sorry to have to admit that I never heard of Elbow before, until they did two songs on Later... with Jools Holland. That must have been very soon after the award, because it was mentioned in the interview.
But nevertheless, I immediately fell in love with their music. The album is beautiful, and since then I listened to a couple of other songs and thinking about buying more CDs.
The Kings of Leon are a great band, and there are a couple of very good songs on their latest album, but I still think Aha Shake Heartbreak is their best album. I can't compare to Day and Age because I've never heard of them either... Any good? What style?
Anyways, good to have you back!

Maybe this is because it is called "brit" which could be short for "british"...

I've been british all my life, and I'll admit I have heard of the brit awards, but I've never paid any attention to them...

are you talking to the person drinking british tea, watching british telly, reading british books, frequenting british websites and chatting with british people? Razz i reckon it might be more due to the fact that i probably wouldn't have heard of the oscars either if they weren't all over the media every year (it took me a while though and i still tend to miss them every other year). Wink

We're going to have to buy you a monocle and some servants, and a country house to live in - you're more British than most british people are, after all Smile
