After much deliberation, thought, procrastination, and dithering, we finally bit the bullet did some research and decided that we will move Andrormeda over to Europe; to the UK specifically. Andromeda is our server on which this, and other august, and very cool, websites live, and is named after the fittest, and most gorgeous and desirable, sci-fi babe in this and the next 19 universes. She's our darling and we lavish much love on her (the server that is 
)!
Anyway, after much time in exile in Arlington VA, Raleigh North Carolina and Dallas Texas she's coming back to the UK. We ain't sayin' where so the nationalist fringe doesn't go getting the 'ump that it wasn't their patch of muddy outpost on the fringes of civilisation but it should provide the sites with something of a performance boost. If it doesn't I blame the Labour Gov't (hey! everyone else does...
). But we've got two processors now, each of which is faster than the current one, twice the hard drive space and twice the RAM and it's newer RAM so the internal bandwidth should be acres faster as well.
In theory, the network response should be a lot faster for our continental friends too (it should also be so in the UK, but that's bounded by the fact that BT Wholesale has the home broadband market by the goolies with it's iron fist coldly encased inside it's spiked cobalt glove making it impossible for ISPs to turn a profit and invest in a proper service; but I digress...) and the search engine results should take a leap up as well. Well that's the theory; we'll see. And with the American economy entering the Kierkegaardian long, dark night of the soul, we should be able to very easily shift everything back quite quickly and cheaply in the event the theory doesn't match up to practice. You'll hear about it here first.
As we do this there are a couple of planned maintenance upgrades we'll be doing and we're also looking at some cool stuff to add on. Read up on the cities thing (search on clans and cities in the search thing above) and think about how we should go about doing this. Whilst your doing that, we'll be looking at a potentially game-changing (so to speak! 
) upgrade to the chat. More about that as things progress. Let's just say we might want to ask you lot to help us make it the coolest site on the Disc. By light years; parsecs, even!
