Is it possible to make the chat box resize around the buttons and board, as I'd class it as more important that the board and buttons hold their size. At the moment, they're getting squidged into a corner by the new text thing

It's still unplayable, I'm afraid.
It's not been changed, I'm afraid. The new textareas will be completely replacing this component with one that can deal with things like mutiple fonts, multiple font sizes, bold, italic, underlined, colours, images, clickable links and so on.
