Gesloten Universiteit / Unseen University

Hoi,

In het eXplorion, de sterrenwacht die ik elke week bezoek voor onze amateur astronomen "clubavond", staat een prachtige Gesloten Universiteit. De vrucht van vele uren ijver van Jan-Willem, de directeur, die zijn hele kerst heeft besteed aan het bouwen van "The Unseen University Cut-out book". Mooie display, zeker met die koepel eroverheen die het gevoel van een schijfwereld nog veel meer benadrukt.
Ik ben zelf ook in het bezit van hetzelfde boek, maar kijk al anderhalf jaar op tegen de enorme berg werk. Ik vind dan ook dat Jan-Willem eer van zijn werk moet krijgen. Vandaar de foto's.

At the eXplorion, the observatory I visit every week for our amateur astronomers evening, there's a beautiful Unseen University on display. Many hours of work by Jan-Willem, the director, went into this during the whole of last X-mas. It's the "Unseen University cut-out book", cut out and pasted. It's in a beautiful display, even better because of the dome that imitates the Discworld wonderfully.
I have a copy of this book at home, but have been dreading the job for one and a half years. So I think Jan-Willem deserves all the credit for doing this, hence the pics. Enjoy!
