Happy New Year?

Bronze MemberLibrarian

Well, firstly, a happy new year to everybody.
Our new year was nice, it was snowing like mad and the fireworks were great. up to the point when some of them got too wet to work at least Razz
I've been wondering: do you guys celebrate new year? on the 31st of december i mean. if yes, what are your traditions? if no, when do you have your new year and what do you do?
we usually celebrate with friends, though not necessarily the same ones for everybody in the family (meaning i go celebrate with some mates of mine, my brother with his, my parents with theirs). there's food, Dinner for One and at midnight some champagne and fireworks. do you know Dinner for One?

Re: Happy New Year?

I think someone brought up dinner for one a while back, can't remember who or when but tis very good Very Happy

My tradition is just a tad nerdy as me n my sister and any parents who pass through usually watch the Lord of the Rings flims back to back over the whole day and past midnight - did it a little differently this year as we only watched the Fellowship then Jools Hootenanny on our projector screen Mr. Green, reverting to our tradition from before the TLOTR films were made. So yeah, we just sit inside and watch films all day getting fat on pringles and occassionally lean out of a window to gawp at a neighbour's fireworks.

An explosion of soup made the bumblebee fly, so I'm told.

yes well it's a blessing and curse to be born with the drunkenness gene isn't it. I thinkw e should try to find out what makes our race so drunken while the other europeans don't seem to.
