hey, sorry to interrupt, but since were testing a new opening here, i think i should point out that T J10 - J14 x H15 x J15 x K15 at this point would spoil most of the dwarf's plan.

@BD - yes indeed, but if you go for that you accept a troll lost, which is you normally wouldn't get on the first side the dwarfs try to build on...

I know - I was just too embarrassed to admit it If you'd like to have more of a challenge, I'm happy to go back and be less stupid. but if not I do have a small idea of how I might try to continue. There are probably more holes in the plan than in a large quantity of cheese, but I'd have something to try at least...

So my move 7, (because T L8 - L9 seemed too obvious), is:

I've taken about 3/4 of an hour over that move... And in the end I've decided I'm close to doomed for that block - your last move came out of my blind-spot as it were.

What I dont know is whether the fact you've got such success here is down to the new strategy, or whether I could've done better...

Yep, thought so it what be a difficult one to my last move. I figured out myself what the best solution was for the Troll, and it's the same conclusion as what you are saying. I was also more then half an hour busy to analyse this situation

As a reaction to your last line:
maybe it's nice to put this line in the Topic: thudgame strategies, to get more persons who will try this opening against me.
I don't think that you could have prevented this from happening. It's a garanteed blockbuilder as I was saying.

I do have the feeling that not everything is said and done after the dwarf-move 8. You could still break the block with a Troll-shove K8-N5.

I would be glad if someone would tell me why this would be a bad Idea (if it really is).

I think you must have missed a move or something: there isn't a troll on K8 after move 5, so you certainly couldn't shove one from K8-N5 in move 8.
