I was given Thud for Christmas and I'm not doing very well at it so far. I have picked up on the fact that I should be forming a block of dwarves but it is best to form one total block or a couple of them? Is there anywhere I can go to play slowly and learn rather than just keep getting slaughtered by trolls?

I've found in the few games I've played it's best to form 2-3 potential blocks and then try to position the remaining dwarfs so that they can shoot past trolls that threaten them and join a block on the far side of the board.
