what our corner of the world looks like at the moment

after talking about rain (in israel) and draughts (in oz) i wanted to show you what it looks like in good old germany when one takes a walk in the woods in heavy snowfall or the next day in sunshine.

Re: what our corner of the world looks like at the moment

GAHHH! That's evil, that is, showing us all that snow just out of reach. Damn the 23.5 degrees...1 more would have done it probably... Evil or Very Mad

Re: what our corner of the world looks like at the moment

I don't think we're talking about the same 23.5 degrees. I'm talking about the angle of the earth off perpendicular to its movement plane. Not about cold.
(BTW, 23.5 degrees is considered normal if not a bit cold here (I think), cuz that's what we have now and it's night and it's a bit wintery^^)

Well talking about temperatures, my personal opinion is that the moderate ones start at about 18 degress Celsius. Below that, it is cold. Not to say freezing. But as long there's a roaring fire in the right place, I just don't care about outside temperatures.

Re: what our corner of the world looks like at the moment

here the outside tempriture kinda defines the inside one..seeingas the walls are a framework of wood with plaster board over the top (seriously, internal walls have no bricks here) so untill the aussies learn to make houses that dont deorem in hot tempritures i'm afraid keeping a house cool is an interesting feat

Do what the smart Aussies do and become a troglodyte. Apparently its not that expensive and you never have a problem keeping you 'house' cool.

next time u say degrees, use units. I though your we walking around the earth and then i thought uwere talking about the earth's angle of precessions relative to the normal plane of the orbit (think about it)

meanwhile, in BD and dibbler's corner...
remeber that earthquake we had a coupla of weeks ago? well, some more, all week ones (3 to 4.1), but it looks like theyre just little intros for a big one. now, the good news is that the really big quakes, those that really hurt cities and suchlike, only happen every 80-90 years around here. the bad news is that the last big one was in 1927, and OH GOD WERE ALL GONNA DIE!!

Are we actually having all these earthquakes? No fair. I never notice them. You're probably inventing them all to scare me. It won't work. Shocked

it was a 6.5, somewhere near jericho. 500 dead, 700 injured, lots of damage.i might have to change my previous statement to OH GOD SOME OF US ARE GOING TO DIE, SOME MORE ARE GOING TO GET HURT AND SOME PEOPLE'S HOUSES ARE GOING TO FALL!!. not really catchy, is it?
