This is something I've only noticed fairly recently - possibly because I think there might have been a feature like this in the earlier versions of the client - but it would be useful if a line of text appeared in the chat window to let you know when a new player had logged in. At the moment the only change seems to be in the list of players, and most of the time I'm not looking at that, so I often only notice players as they leave...
Not being the one doing the coding I cant say for sure, but I imagine (and hope) that it wouldn't be too tricky to have players' arrival announced in the same way that their departure is. As I say, I think this might even have been the case in the past (though I guess if it was that means it's been deliberately disabled)
Ah well, who knows. Well, Dewi and Lee obviously...
