Re: what to read next?
GODS MAN! YOU HAVE NO SOUL! YOU HAVEN'T BEEN EXPOSED TO Pterry's GREATEST WORKS
Small gods (an absolute must) religion/history satyr...good - no familiar characters
Pyramids - no familiar characters, about egypt and rulership...insight into assassins guild
last continent - Rincewind...not so funny for you but it's a great parody of OZ and i have no idea how he knew some of that stuff
fifth elephant - vimes, trade, politics
nightwatch - vimes, history of AM revolution. first book my dad and i ever read by him....That's when we saw the light. twas amazing
Jingo - Vimes, goes to klatch, satyrises jingoism, politics and warfare
Thief of time - excelent book lu tze (who also popes up in nightwatch) monks of time...just ueber
monstrous regiment - parody on warfare and how that taxes a country. horrors of war etc NFC
thud - speciesism, tribal rifts, vimes et al
Going Postal - postal service, AM, NFC
Makin Money - I hear ueber things and since pterrys books get progressively better and better.....
The Truth - parody on the media, NFC
This is I feel the best of the best in the DW. read them all or die lacking
That ain't no English I ever dun heard!
Re: what to read next?

Re: what to read next?
Well as others have suggested Mort is next and it was nice reading them in order not that i had a lot of choice as i am always waiting for the next one to come out and try to get it as quickly as i can. But it is possible to read them as several mini series so check out this link to see the various orders that they can be read in.

Re: what to read next?
wow...some stuff there i've not heard of
what's with mort? why is everyone praising it so? It was a good book no mistake but I found Pterry's later stuff to be far superior...maybe i just haven;t read ti in a while but did I miss something?
That ain't no English I ever dun heard!
Re: what to read next?
i agree that the later pterry is better, but starting with the early books make the following even 'better'-er

Re: what to read next?
i am almost finished reading equal rites and next on the list is mort. I was at the orthodontist this morning and to take my mind of the plyers and glue and japenese people with amazing english telling you to "open wider.....wider....wider..WIDER!" i read some more of equal rites. in the waiting room of coarse. It says you have to pay £1 for every minute you are late for the appointment but i would be £45 richer if they paid us £1 for every munite over our appointment!!!!
So many penguins, so few recipes!!!
Re: what to read next?

Re: what to read next?
i know this suounds stupid, but i tend to prefer the ones before kirby (om bless his soul) died, kidbys artwork aint as cool. Although a good vimes story rules all others...
My discworlding was wierd, starting with maurice and the rodents(its a cool book, is that)
then i bought FOC and MAA, followed by thud, before a mass amazon buy, gaining me all but carpe jugulum, which is my next catch...
