Help!

One Small Thudstone for pushing off the board in Koom Valley Thud, one Troll-sized-ish one for using in the original longer game. Use whichever you prefer for either game, it's purely an aesthetic choice!

I'm looking to see if someone can answer my question!

I got my first thud set for my birthday yesterday and I was hoping someone to tell me why there are two Thud Stones in the set (the rules don't tell why this is)?

Traditional Thud was created i think in 2002 at least it was first publicly demoed in Wincanton hogswatch 2002 it was created by Trevor Truan based on comments in several Discworld novels about Trolls and Dwarfs and Koom valley. A lot of fans found it a fun game easy to learn the rules like in chess but with also the complexity and some fans ended up playing games that lasted many hours in this game the Thud stone designed not to move. When pTerry wrote the book Thud it was decided that the game was going to be relaunched but Trevor was asked to come up with a game using the same pieces that was quicker to play and after reading the proof of the book thud came up the idea for the Koom valley variant of thud where the idea is that the Dwarfs think that the Thud stone contains a device and the Trolls think that the stone contains a philosophising relative. So the new sets that came out along with the book have a Thud stone that is designed to stay still and one that is designed to be moved and has the suggestion in its looks that it may contain a Dwarf device.

And as Ook pointed out you can also use the same board and pieces to play KLASH which was one on the alternate ideas for the quicker game that was asked for, Trevor has said that it has not been fully tested but has allowed me to publish the rules on this site on an as is basis and the rules are free for those who have a Thud set to download and add to their game or for those who like to play here to use. Also if you bought a thud set before the Koom Valley version came out you can download the rules from this site and add them to your set as a free upgrade tho you will only have the original Thud Stone you can still use that to play it.
