so sad...i did scouts but i think it should go back to it's military roots...i'd like doing more knots and scouting and nighttime covert games and stuff not this citizenship stuff

In answer to the last 2 questions the jamboree was like a proper one tho the Discworld Scouts are not properly affiliated to the real world scouts tho that may be rectified for the next event if there is a next one according to one rumour i heard as a lot of the Discworld fans that turned up had also been Scouts and Guides and some had even run troupes. There was also jam sold at the event in the aid charity.
But back on the theme of the thread i think pTerry has got his timing right again writing about money just before the money markets go into chaos.
