Under the "anything else you can think of" category I think Asterix has to be here too! Does anyone else think they're actually funnier when read in another language? Maybe it's the surprise once the translation in your head goes thru and only a bit later you twig to what they said and find it absolutely hilarious!
I read them in English and German and found the German ones far better. My German friends read them in French and said these were much superior. Dunno, whaddya you all think?

well as i am only 14, i cant actually read whole books or comics in a different language. I do know a tad of german.

well I ifnd that the european translations of many things are better...I have the vid for asterix and cleopatra and another one, both with gerald depardue...good stuff

i only ever read the asterix in german and loved them. my parents got all, except for the latest one which i heard is cr** anyway. maybe i should try reading them in another language. i think i once saw one of the movies in french though, don't remember, but i know i didn't understand it.
