Re: [SgtL] and once again for those of us that are slow

Librarian

the 'founder'-thing is over
for being in the thudguild u have to pay
thudmeister is a title you get for winning a thud-championship
and all the other titles can be obtained by speaking with lee and by convincing him that you are needed i think

some else can go on

Almost right - you can be a Librarian or a Druid by convincing Lee you'd be useful at it, but you'll never get to be an admin (and "site gods" are just another unofficial name for the admins). Admins are Lee and Dewi, and they have root, so can do more or less anything - which includes destroying everything if they press the wrong button by accident. Hence we're not likely to see any more admins, (unless I suppose the site suddenly becomes HUGE and they have to hire other professional types to work at the morganalley company).

And just to expand on being a founder, essentially you had to have donated before loads of people would've found out about the site. IIRC, the cut-off date was the release of the paperback edition of Thud!

and what priveledges do i enjoy as a librarian or druid

--

That ain't no English I ever dun heard!

Re: [SgtL] and once again for those of us that are slow

Librarian

if youre a librarian you can tag topics, which means it'll be easier for google to find them, or something like that, and searching them on thet site (with the search option on the top left) will be easier. druids, if i get it right, are like assistants for the admins - they edit and update topics, organize stuff like the story comp and do general stuff in the site.

Just a quick hint... I'm not sure you're supposed to become a Librarian/Druid just for the badge - generally people want to help and offer there time (and it does take up a bit of time, doing some of the stuff). One of the perks of the job is the badge, rather than it working the other way up...

Re: [SgtL] and once again for those of us that are slow

hehe 1337 looks like LEET [lít..like it would be in afrikaans]. programmers use certain forms and abrviations and words like "warez", which is a play on "wares" meaning stolen (electronically stolen or copied) goods (hard/software) and HAXOR meaning a hacker but a leet (elite) one...possible one who even is a cracker (in the comp. world, a hacker writes programs and a cracker breaks into computers.)
the language is called leet or 1337
