ok, i get what KVT is, but what is KLASH?

Thud now known as Traditional Thud was first publicly demoed in Wincanton Hogswatch 2001.
Its a game of two halves IE you should play both ways as Trolls and Dwarfs for a full game scoring is done by points and by negotiation both players have to agree when to end each half tho a sub-variant of this is to agree to play X number of moves each way at the start of the game.
Koom Valley Thud (KVT) Is a version that was developed to coincide with the publishing of the Discworld book Thud. The idea was for a version that could be played quicker and had a defined end state as in Win/Lose or Draw as this was thought to be necessary for certain markets. Tho in fact players who have become good at KVT can make the game last a long time thru complex tactics. Dwarfs win by getting the Thudstone to the back line and Trolls win by getting three Trolls surrounding the stone one way of getting a draw would be for all Dwarfs to be lost with only 2 Trolls remaining.
KLASH was another variant of Thud that i think was one of the contenders to be KVT but the rules have only recently be released into the public domain tho Trevor Truran retains copyright for any commercial exploitation of the game. This is also a game of two halves IE you should play both ways for a complete game but has defined end states and is point scored.

All three of these variants were created by Trevor Truran. He said that KLASH has had the least checking done on it so he is not sure how well it plays as a game but the limited amount of play i have done the game does look like it could be a quick version of Thud with sufficient complexity to make it interesting.
