i18n is the web sitey jargon for Internationalization. Sadly the i18n modules on the site are conflicting with some of the core functionality of the site and are causing some unintended things to happen that interfere with the site running correctly (e-mailing passwords, creating accounts, etc.). I've just disabled it for the moment and will leave it off until we can investigate it more thoroughly. meanwhile some of the site anomalies (wrong display languages in the interface, etc.) should go away. If they don't please let me know and we'll escalate the priority on the investigation.
