I notice you have removed the "flag as offensive" option amongst other things and thought as I waited in vain for replies to my soooooo relevant comments that there should be a flagging option which would put a marker next to a forum topic indicating that a user wanted special attention payed to their comment in the form of a swift reply or two. i.e. If someone wanted feedback on something urgently like an idea for the site like say...this one, they could flag it.
the flag would remain active until a predetermined number of users...say 3 to 5 replied to the comment in question (which may or may not be the thread [nods to Ponder] topic) and the intensity of the flag could diminish with each.
obviously certain regulations would have to be in place to regulate over-flagging but that's your problem not mine.
So, what do we all think?
P.S. I will personally eliminate the first person who suggests charging points for flagging.

I personally wouldn't have expected it to be too effective - I guess that if people think they're going to be able to contribute to a thread they'll look at it, and if they dont they wont, regardless of whether the poster thought it was urgent. Certainly that's the way I browse fora as a rule (tho here I try to look at everything, since I'm a mod, but again I do everything new in a block when I come online).
I may not be typical in this, tho...

I like the idea, so will keep an eye out for modules that could do it. But unless there's a significant wave of requests for it, I don't see myself writing a module to do it unless someone has already made it as a module, because it'd be a fair amount of work.
And a pain in the bum to code, too.
