some more problems.

2 problems, first the sig at the bottom of the comment was usually inserted into the comments box as you wrote your comments and was ALSO added after the comment was posted such that one's Sig appeared twice. TYhe solution was simple; delete the fiorst one while writing your comment but as now it does not appear in the new comment box, the Sig is automatically added twice and this is an annoying problem. Perhaps we should put that particular feature back the way it was.

also, is it possible that some comments have been lost during the system change because I can't find some, maybe i'm looking in the wrong forum but some blogs appear to be missing.

Also, is there some way of looking at tyhe recent comments in ALL the forums so you don't have to go to each individual forum and check the recetn comments in each one?

P.S. [my athetic opinion is that messages re. compulsory tyhings like giving a topic a subjet werfe more effective when they were red on black not black on pink.]

Re: some more problems.

Librarian

dewi is working on your first problem, i think. if you look at
' Welcome back to the improved Thudgame site! (19)'
you can see his test post Wink

about your second problem: don't you have a 'recent site posts' link on the lefthand site of your screen? near 'my account' and all of your private things?

Re: some more problems.

In your user account you can see every post you've made by clicking on the "Track" link. I think Dewi may have mentioned this in another thread elsewhere.

I think you'll find a list of all fora here. Just to clear something up (warning: pet peeve alert! Wink ), we're posting now within a "topic" and the conversations within that topic is called a "thread" (sorry if I'm stating the blindingly obvious; some on forum don't seem to grasp the terminology as used widely as standard practice). The forum this is in is "The Thudding Drum". There is a list of all fora in the "Go to the Forums" (sic) link where they are all arranged in a logical order in terms of conversational and site relevance rather than alphabetically.

Although we appreciate the desire for some to see content presented in various ways in accordance with their personal preferences, actually delivering this on a site as big as Thudgame (and, more importantly, doing so in a semantic and scalable way without performance-killing bugs) is rather a complicated (read: time-consuming) process. We're happy to do this as much as we can in the time we have to dedicate to the site but until it becomes a significant revenue stream for us we have tp allocate resources to put supper on the table first and do the fun stuff only afterward. That said the nice thing about free/open-source software is that there are whacking-great huge mobs of lovely people who take their time to code nice, prepackaged content-presenting scripts to layout stuff in funky ways; sometimes in ways that folk here have requested. So we're looking at several possibilities along those lines Smile

Re: some more problems.

Then allow me to rephrase, there should be a page that lists all threads (sometimes I get a bit confused with the terminology and use Blog in stead of thread and things like that) surely it wouldn't be to difficult to somohow rig it so that one page analyses the information held in all the "forum contents" withing "go to the forums" which I feel should be "fora" but that's 4 years of latin talking.

Yup, exists already unless I am misunderstanding: it's called "recent site posts". Menu on the left Smile

If this is not what you are looking for, describe what you would like to be different, and I'll see what I can do.

it's yeah by the way

ok so when you post something you press post and then if you stuffed up you press edit and then when you've finished editing you press post again. What part of this isn't working?

When I press "post comment"(after I edit it)I wait and then normaly my comment is edit. But now it is like this:I click on edit=>write my new text=>click on post comment=>have to write my new text again=>click on edit
=>edit is save!
So I have to write it twice...
Can you see the problem now?

Druid

ah! i understand the wizzard!

if he wants to edit a post, he has to do it once, find it hasn't changed, and then goes back to edit again and this time it works.

Very Happy at least i hope this is what you mean. not very easy to explain Smile well done Smile

Re: some more problems.

89% are correct....When I want to edit a comment and then I'm ready I click on "post" then there is the "edit site" so the same site then before. It don't change to the topic...But year the most of the sense is right...
